The Diploma is accredited at the postgraduate Level 7. The programme has a total equivalence of 120 credits. Completing the Diploma allows access to a dissertation at one of our University partners for a related master's degree.

Aims of the Course

Level 7 qualification is designed to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills learners require to deal with the complexities of leadership and strategic management in a business context and develop their ability to lead change in organisations.

Level 7 units develop knowledge and understanding of managing team performance, leading people and teams, planning for the future, and strategic management. The level 7 Diploma delivers a combination of context-specific six core units and two optional units that reflect learners' needs working in a wide range of organisational contexts. That includes small businesses, large private sector organisations, public sector organisations, not-for-profit organisations, and professional service firms.

Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership

The overall structure of the course is based on eight units that cover several topics relating to learning outcomes. Six units are mandatory, with learners being able to choose two optional units from four. Each unit has an equivalency of 15 credits.

Accreditation

This Qualification has been accredited to the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and has its own unique Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN). What is QUALIFI?

QUALIFI is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) with a reference number RN5160. Ofqual is responsible for maintaining standards and confidence in a wide range of vocational qualifications, whereas QUALIFI has a duty of care to implement quality assurance processes.

Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership

The Qualification is suitable for both part-time learners and full-time learners who can also participate in formal work placements or part-time employment. Learners can progress into or within a career in the business sector, either directly on achieving the award or following further study to QUALIFI Level 7 Diploma in Business Management.

The qualifications have been designed to be accessible without artificial barriers that restrict access and progression. For entry to the Qualification, learners will be expected to hold the following:

• Solid knowledge of the English Language
• Be age 16 years or above
• Good understanding of ICT
• Demonstrated some ability and possessed qualifications at Level 6, for example, or First Degree.
• In certain circumstances, managers with considerable experience but no formal qualifications may be considered, subject to interview and being able to demonstrate their ability to cope with the demands of the programme.

Learners completing the QUALIFI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and leadership can progress to:

• the QUALIFI Level 8 Diploma in Business Management or Business Enterprise, or
• the final year of undergraduate study in business management; or
• directly into employment in an associated profession
